JOSEPH W. ARCHAMBEAULT, JR. 53, fondly known as Joe, was called home to our Lord’s house on Saturday, April 30, 2011.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.

He was born on April 2, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida, but grew up in Brattleboro, Vermont.  The family returned to Florida in his mid-teens.  He entered the Army at 16 and completed Airborne and Ranger training.  At the end of his tour in Germany he re-enlisted in the Reserves as an AT Medic and served with the 345th CSH, NAS Jax.  It was in this unit where he met his wife of 30 years.  He began his career as a Cardio-Vascular Technician at Medical Cities Hospital in Dallas in 1985, discovering this to be his true calling.  He went to work at Baylor Hospital in 1988 and in 1996 he came to then known St. Joseph’s Hospital to become part of the growing Heart Programs.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.  He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his mother Lois Hunt and her husband Wes of Canyon Lake, Texas; a brother Francis Lee and his wife Elizabeth in Tacoma, Washington; a sister Lynn Rappaport and her husband Jarrod in Northridge, California; a son Nathan Michael and his wife Kacey; two daughters, Ashley Marie and Kera Lyn; two grandsons, Ethan Michael and Trystan Ryan; and several nephews and nieces and one grand nephew.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Red River Valley Downs Syndrome’s Buddy Baseball program at PO Box 6455 Paris, Texas 75461.
