Robert F. Hansen, Sr. also known as “Papa” 86, of Paris passed away Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday July 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Morgan White officiating. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Martha’s Church in Enfield, CT Wednesday and burial in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield CT. There will be a visitation at Leete Stevens funeral home Tuesday evening. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of local services. He was born November 14, 1924 in Bloomfield, Connecticut a son of George C. and Evelyn Hansen. He married Theresa Vignone May 3, 1946 in Bloomfield, CT. He was a repair/installer for SNET Co./ATT and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Martha’s Church in Enfield, CT. and also Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Paris. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Connecticut where he was a past Faithful Navigator and Grand Knight. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy as a frogman during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Brent Moore; brothers George Hansen, Jr., Russell Hansen; and a sister Barbara Gombarcik. Survivors include children; Joan Moore and husband Wendell of Paris, Judith Noonan and husband Kevin of Middletown, CT., Robert Hansen, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Toland, CT.; grandchildren Daniel Chelius and wife Amber Pyeatt of Kansas City, MO. Paul Chelius of Paris, TX, Kevin Noonan, Jr., Robert Noonan, Kimberly Heady and husband James and Tyler Hansen all of CT.; great grandchildren Naomi Chelius of Kansas City, MO. and Maximus Heady of CT. and sister Sandra Cooley of Tamarac, Florida. Three of his very special friends in Paris were Linda Earley ‘the mail lady’, Dale Skaggs who he rode scooters with and Judy Bawcum who played cribbage with him every Monday. Papa was a holy man who loved us all. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Paris.
