Edwin Ray Doty, 60, of Blossom, died Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas.  A graveside service is set for 11:00 AM, Monday, March 5, 2012 at Bethel Cemetery in Red River County with Patrick Cannon officiating.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery from 10:30 AM until service time on Monday.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Edwin was born August 11, 1951 in Dallas to Gerald Lee and Mary Kathryn Billingsley Doty.  He graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas and received a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Doty is survived by his son, Hamilton Doty and wife, Jessica of Lewisville; his parents, Gerald and Mary Doty of Detroit; three siblings, Carol Lindenblatt of Angel Fire, New Mexico, Kenneth Doty of Cleburne, and Debra Gordon and husband, Allen of Houston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Doty and his grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Kerby, Kenneth Doty, Steve Wade, Jim Lindenblatt, Hamilton Doty, and Gerald Doty.
