I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give to me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them that also love his appearing. (1 Timothy 4:7-8)

Ted was born August 7, 1954 to Cornelius and Maria Friesen as the second youngest of 11 children. He grew up on the family farm near
Ted accepted Christ into his life at an early age and was baptized upon confession of faith as a teenager. Ted lived a life that personified total dedication to living out ones faith in Christ. He served as an example of faithfulness to God, commitment to his family, and a witness to the people around him.
Ted spent his early adulthood working on the farm but early on felt the call to spend time in some form of mission work. This calling resulted in working in places like Red Lake and spending time teaching school in Monclova, Mexico and Seminole, Texas. Among some of his most memorable experiences doing mission work was the year he spent doing volunteer work for MCC at Heifer International in
Over the years Ted remained very active in the church and the school serving as Sunday-school teacher, school-board member, and more recently an assistant minister.
In August of last year Ted was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and began chemotherapy shortly thereafter. Even through times of difficult and painful treatment, he remained a constant source of encouragement for his family, friends, and hospital staff. His deepest desire was that his life would serve as a testimony to the world around him and help to point others to Christ.
Ted will be remembered as a loving husband to Annie, a dedicated father to Kimberly and Stanley Dueck, Kenneth, Kris, Kevin, Michele and Jamie Olfert, and Kaylene, as well as a faithful friend to many.
We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support that have been so generously given these past months; as well as a special thank-you to the exceptional hospital staff at the
