Passed Away June 27, 2012

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 2, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris Texas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Graveside Services at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris Texas.

Bobby Jack graduated from Paris High School, and attended Paris Junior College where he is in the Paris Junior College Hall of Fame. He continued his education at Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth.  While at TCU, he obtained Honors of “All Southwest Conference” for two consecutive years and 2nd Team” All American” during his junior year. Bobby Jack was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1952 and went on to play for the Chicago Bears. He married Martha Kay Sprinkle in 1957 and began working for Texas Instruments in Dallas.  They raised three children in Garland and Sherman, where he retired after 25 years.  He and his wife spent the past ten years in California, and recently returned to Paris. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Beulah Floyd of Paris, Texas, and brother Orbie Jay Floyd of Llano, Texas.  He is survived by his brother Bill R. Floyd and wife Delphine of Ft Worth, Texas, and his sister, Mary Ann McGuire of Paris, Texas. He is also survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Kay and three children, Shari Simon and husband Glenn of Rocklin, California, Bobby Jack Floyd II and wife Barbara of Denison, Texas and Jay Scott Floyd of Greensboro, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren: Ashley, Cody and Lindsay Kay Simon, Rocklin, California; Jayden and Jordan Floyd, Sherman, Texas; Cheyenne and Kacy Floyd, Greensboro, North Carolina. He also leaves numerous friends, nieces and nephews, and his little schnauzers, Max and Riley.  He was a generous and loving husband, father and friend and will be sorely missed by all.

Pallbearers include sons, Bobby and Jay Floyd, son-in-law, Glenn Simon, grandson Cody Simon, nephew Jim McGuire, and brother-in-law Douglas Lowe.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Bobby Jack Floyd Memorial, Paris Education Foundation, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, TX 75460.
