Arthur Stephen Tucker, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 21, 2012 at Chicota Baptist Church with Bro. Rocky Burrow officiating. Masonic services will be conducted at the church.  Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster, Texas at 3:00 P.M. Saturday.

Steve was born August 17, 1938 in Fulbright, Tx. the youngest son of Alex Dewey and Allie Garrison Tucker.

Steve was a purchasing agent in Dallas for Motion Industries for 29 years before retiring to the farm in Chicota. He served as a deacon at Chicota Baptist Church. He was an AF&AM Mason, Past Master of Garretts Bluff Lodge and Past Master of Rosalie Lodge. A 32nd Degree Past President of the Lamar County Scottish Rite Club and York Rite.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Thelma, three brothers James, A.D., and Ray and four nephews Paul, Jack, Jerry and David Tucker.

He is survived by his wife Sara; sisters-in-law Ruby Tucker of Detroit, Wanda Tucker of Ft. Worth, Becky Moyers and husband Tom of Hamilton, Tx.; brother-in-law Joe Alexander and wife Lillie of Bedford, TX; 2 nephews Alec Tucker of Ft. Worth, and Douglas Tucker of Louisville, Ky. and 4 nieces Brenda Daughtery of Leonard, Ramona Anderson of Garland, Becky Tucker of Houston, and Melinda Simpson of Abilene.

Pallbearers are James Anderson, Claude Hall, Billy Miller, Chief Addy, Matt Hall and James Cooke. Honorary pallbearers are the Men’s Sunday School Class at Chicota Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Chicota Baptist Church building fund.

For the wonderful care they provided during Steve’s illness, a note of appreciation goes to Platinum Home Health/Hospice.
