Obituaries

George Lee Spencer, 82, of Paris, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2012 at Paris Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 with Rev. Jackie Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Pyles cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 6-8 p.m.

George was born September 8, 1929 in the Georgia Community the eldest of 18 children to Jeff Starkes (Rubin) and Bonnie May Morley Spencer. He was married to Mildred Harlan Stewart. He owned and operated Spencer Construction Company and attended Bonham Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harlan Spencer, his parents; granddaughter Brea Spencer and brothers Bobby and Frank Spencer.

Survivors include two children Gary Lee Spencer and wife Debby, Billy Don Spencer and wife Debbie; grandchildren Adrienne Tucker and husband Mike and John Spencer; 7 great grandchildren; 8 brothers; 7 sisters and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Birdsong, Ronald Daniels, Donald Daniels, Jimmy Dale Daniels, Paul Ray Spencer, and John Mark Spencer.
