Ownby (Preacher) Fleming, 93, of Woodland passed away Saturday July 5, 2008 at Parkview Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday July 7, 2008 at the Woodland Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church after the services Monday. He was born in Woodland, TX January 24, 1915 a son of Marvin and Lorena Ownby Fleming. He married Audrey Louise Baxter in Hugo, Oklahoma January 13, 1940. He was a farmer/rancher in the Woodland community and was the oldest living member of the Woodland Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Fleming and a grandson Johnathan Brent Love. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Audrey; son Jesse Leon Fleming and wife Darla, of Woodland; daughter, Brenda Sue Love and husband Mack of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Brenda Joyce Fleming of Paris; grandchildren, Jesse Fleming, Jr., Craig Fleming, Chad Fleming, Lisa Chapman, Jill Erwin and Jana Love; 8 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Belfiglio of California. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jesse Fleming, Jr., Craig Fleming, Chad Fleming, Chris Chapman, and Jake Erwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jill Erwin, Jana Love, Lisa Chapman, and Johnathan Brent Love, posthumously.
