Bessie K. Humphries, 97, of Pettty, passed away Thursday March 13, 2008 at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 15, 2008 at Shiloh Cemetery in Delta County with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the cemetery. She was born June 25, 1910 in the Shiloh Community in Delta County a daughter of George and Lucinda Pratt Martin. She married Roy C. Humphries on October 22, 1928 in Delta County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Golden and husband Tommy of Sumner and a son George Humphries and wife, Golda of Petty; grandchildren, Karen Douglas and husband, Robert, Brian Humphries and wife Jamie and Kyle Humphries; great grandchildren, Josh Douglas, Jamie Douglas, Elizabeth Humphries and Clay Humphries, a sister, Mozelle Ray; sisters-in-law, Elaine Martin and Winona Martin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Humphries; brothers Obie, Eual, Fred and Buster Martin.
