GEORGE P. MORTON 69, of Blossom, died at 3:17 AM, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Dubuis Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Mr. Morton was born October 14, 1939 in Lamar County to George Lester and Myrtle Ova Staley Morton. He married Rosalee Clements on May 5, 1978 in Paris. She died February 23, 2002. Mr. Morton was a welder at Babcock & Wilcox Corporation prior to his retirement. Mr. Morton is survived by 4 children, Jan Jaramillo and husband, Raul of Denton, Mike Morton and wife, Cindy of New Boston, Sheila Huffman of Florida, and Greg Morton and wife, Jennifer of Blossom; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ronnie Morton and wife, Mary Lou of Reno, James Morton and wife, Patty of Pattonville, Gary Morton and wife, Cynthia of the Glory Community; and 2 sisters, Myrtle Faye Sneed of Commerce and Virginia and Cliff Brackeen of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
