ELSIE LEE HUGHES went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2009 at the age of 82. A graveside service has been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Hughes was born to Claude and Jesse Couch on October 16, 1926 in Nashville, Arkansas. She retired after 35 years at Westinghouse-North American Phillips and L.P. McCuistion Hospital. After retirement, she loved cooking and caring for others. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hughes married Coy Robert Hughes May 10, 1941 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Wanda Jean Hughes and grandson Robert Tab Hughes; her parents, Claude and Jesse Couch; brothers, Almer Couch, Marvin Couch, and Dildy Couch. She is survived by her son, Robert Larry Hughes of Paris; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Hughes Spencer and husband, Fred of Paris; grandchildren, Jeffery David Spencer and wife, Christine of Idabel, Oklahoma, Courtney Adam Spencer and fiancée, Amanda Knox of Paris; great-granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Lolar and husband, Cody of Reno, Texas; great-great-grandchildren, Brooke Nicole Lolar, Jaxon Coy Spencer and Jacy Lane Spencer; a sister, Zora Murphy of Granbury, Texas; sister-in-law, Lucille Couch Pickering of Deport, Texas; and special niece and nephew, Eva and Boyce Flenniken; and other nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all of her animal friends.
